It is thought that diuretics (like Palo Azul) are able to decrease urinary calcium (Harvard Health). Calcium oxalate is the most common type of human kidney stones. Diuretics also help to flush out potassium.

A study has found antifungal activity of Palo Azul,grown in the region of Texas. This 1999 studywas the first to identify the flavanone, responsible for antifungal effect.
The tea's color alters as you cook it. It transitions through a variety of shades of brown, red, and blue. Steeping the Palo Azul longer will result in a darker color. Moreover, the blue color is merely seen as a refraction of light.
Directions - Boil 0.5-0.9oz Palo Azul with 3 litters of water for 10 mins. Simmer on low for 5 additional minutes then turn off heat and let steep for up to an hour for maximum herbal extraction. Remove Palo Azul and refrigerate for up 7 days.
Cold brew Method: Mix 1 oz Palo Azul with 3 litters of cool water and steeping the mixture in the fridge overnight. The next day you strain the mixture, leaving you with a concentrate.
